Schedule a Matterport Scan
We are pleased to get your Matterport Scan scheduled for you. This service is revolutionary in STR Design planning. Once completed, our design team has 24/7 virtual access to detailed views and measures of your entire property. There are 2 types of scans we do:
- Planning Scans are used to measure and create designs for your property. These enable virtual site visits, art placement, and product specification services. This scan is required if Vodyssey Design is designing for your property.
- Marketing Scans are used to promote your finished property and can increase your bookings an average of 20% and add certainty to client bookings.
Can I just book a scan with Matterport directly?
Yes you can, but booking through Vodyssey Design is recommended. This saves you the time and effort of creating your own account and hosting portal. It also enables us to do our best and most efficient design work, since we can save measurements or changes we make to the model during our work sessions, which we can't do unless we are hosting.
What does the scan cost?
The scan cost is a flat fee based on the square footage of the property:
- Up to 2000 sq/ft - $390
- 2001 - 3000 sq/ft - $484
- 3001 - 4000 sq/ft - $550
- 4001 - 5000 sq/ft - $645
- 5001 - 6000 sq/ft - $750
- 6001 - 7000 sq/ft - $845
- 7001 - 10,000 sq/ft - $990
This flat fee includes your subscription and hosting fees for the 3D Model of your space. Planning Scans are hosted for 4 months, with all hosting fees included in the scan price. Marketing Scans cost an extra $100 per year for hosting on our permanent server, which can then be used to place on your VRBO listing, embed in your web site, and to QR Code on AirBNB.
We also require a Matterport 2D schematic blueprint of your property for our CAD design software. This floorpan is $75.00 plus tax and is also a valuable graphic to display in your listing and to have on site for emergency evacuation routes through the property.
Depending on where the property is located, you may be subject to a travel fee, for the scan tech to drive to your property. Per Matterport:
If a Subject Property is located more than 30 driven miles (50 driven kilometers), from the closest In-Network City location identified in CORE NETWORK CITIES LIST for each driven mile in excess of such distance, each way, a travel surcharge will be incurred for such Capture Services Job in the amount of $2 per mile. Matterport will notify Customer of the applicable travel surcharge and obtain customer’s written consent to the travel surcharge (email sufficient) prior to performing the Capture Services (in each case a “Travel Surcharge”). If, in the United States, the distance to the Subject Property is greater than 500 driven miles or not accessible by car, Matterport will seek Customer’s written approval for a different Travel Surcharge amount and obtain customer’s written consent to the Travel Surcharge (email sufficient) prior to performing the Capture Services. The Travel Surcharge shall be payable by Customer in the currency specified in this Order.
We will provide travel quote after you submit your scan request, and have it approved by you before confirming your scan.
How long does it take?
Capturing a space depends on the size and complexity of the property. For example, furnished properties take longer than vacant properties, and the smaller the space, the faster the capture. Estimated capture time:
- Up to 4,000 sq ft: 1–3 hours
- 4,000–10,000 sq ft: 2–5 hours
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE YOU BOOK:
It takes us on average 2-4 business days to connect with a local technician to confirm your requested date and pair your property with a scan technician. So please give us a date at least 7-10 days from the date you are filling out this form, so that we have time to get the date you are requesting booked and confirmed. If you request a scan date inside of 7 days from the date you are filling out this form, we will not be able to fulfill your request.
